Providing Access to Supplemental Trainings Online

IIE partnered with Cisco Systems and TechSoup Global to supplement the E-Mediat workshops with an online component by providing training and tools to the in-country leadership teams  to develop and offer webinars.  Cisco donated 10 WebEx licenses to the E-Mediat program which allows the five in-country teams to produce supplemental trainings, coaching and resources which can be accessed on-demand through recorded and archived training.

TechSoup Global conducted a training of trainers (TOT) for the in-country leadership teams on the following:

• Applying basic concepts of delivering webinar-based training
• Understanding key principles of online learning, including maintaining interest and communication techniques
• Planning quality webinar trainings
• Discovering best practices in webinar training

TechSoup Global also provides on-going webinar coaching and support.

The first webinar was held on Web Listening Techniques in September 2011.  Webinars are now taking place in all E-Mediat focus countries and are contributing to greater knowledge transfer and connectivity between organizations.  This exciting tool allows E-Mediat participants to connect with and learn from Social Media experts across the globe without being hindered by distance.
